chapter ii
part iii: taking the plunge

Pressing ever onward, myeck's immigrant father continued in his quest for success in the American business world.  Always ready to learn from the mistakes of others, keeping his nose to the grindstone and his ear to the ground, he was rarely presentable for supper but always ready to leap at the Next Big Thing

Unfortunately, he was confused by the alien jargon, and his new enterprise was not very profitable, although he did stay in the black thanks to the unexpected crowds of spectators.
