chapter ii
part iii: taking the plunge
Pressing ever onward, myeck's immigrant father continued in his quest for success in the American business world.  Always ready to learn from the mistakes of others, keeping his nose to the grindstone and his ear to the ground, he was rarely presentable for supper but always ready to leap at the Next Big Thing

Thus, when he overheard an acquaintance talking about his brother-in-law, who was taking a bath in the while-you-wait laundry business, he excitedly sprang into action.
Unfortunately, he was confused by the alien jargon, and his new enterprise was not very profitable, although he did stay in the black thanks to the unexpected crowds of spectators.
